Antonio Conte Appointed as Next Chelsea Manager

Antonio Conte’s appointment as Chelsea’s next permanent manager has been an inevitable conclusion for what it feels like for months now, but the wait for the deal being official is over: the 46-year-old has been confirmed as the Chelsea’s next Head Coach.

Having Chelsea’s manager available before the season ends is actually a great news, but international tournaments signify that Conte won’t receive much time to be with the players before next season begins. He’s focused on Italy until the end of Euro 2016, and Chelsea’s Brazilian contingent has the summer Olympics and Copa America to handle also.

Don’t expect you’ll hear much about his new job until his duties with the Azzurri are over. For sure, Conte seems to be a great coach and the solution to Chelsea’s awful start of this season.  Below is the official message received from Conte announcing his appointment. Hopefully, Chelsea can acquire players they need and finish the season strongly to make the fans happy again.

“I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea Football Club. I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and the day-to-day challenge of competing in the Premier League … I am happy we have made the announcement now so everything is clear and we can end the speculation. I will continue to focus on my job with the Italian national team and will reserve speaking about Chelsea again until after the Euros”.

So what do you think about this appointment?
