The Brazilian attacking midfielder Willian has turned into the impossible legend and top goal scorer of the terrible Chelsea season so far. As a result of his steady and great performances regardless of the Chelsea’s awful season, the club has started a negotiation on his contract, according to Simon Johnson from the Evening Standard.
That is the second time we’re knowing about Willian’s improved contract, coming from a fortnight and taking after the Mirror reported something similar. Specified already in the media, the Mirror has a tendency to be ahead of schedule as a different option for an alternative to wrong using these sorts of things to bring people to the site.
Right now, Willian, 27, is on a £85,000 per week contract and that will not expire until 2018.According to the report, Chelsea wants to extend that for an extra two years, which could see Willian play for Chelsea until 2020. Only Eden Hazard, Kenedy, and Baba Rahman are tied down for that long.
As reported by one of Willian’s interviews last week, Chelsea football director Michael Emenalo mentioned how another recent contract extension, Ramires’ until 2019, was part of the club’s arrangement of keeping our talented players together, this season as well, Willian has positively demonstrated his value to the team. Like Ramires, Willian could be 32 after this new contract.
Chelsea will be quick to secure the future of Willian at the earliest opportunity as they hope to recover their season on track after a disappointing start for the new season, with the defending champions 15th in the Premier League table after nine-ten games.
Well deserved for Willian. What do you think? Leave your comment below
