Apple has launched its latest iPhones – the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus which will begin selling to the general public from 25 September 2015 in over 130 countries, with pre-orders beginning from 12 September. The iPhone 6S will be selling for $299 for the 16GB variation, and the iPhone 6S Plus will be offered from $399 for the 16GB variation.
These costs obviously come with the 2-year contract. The non-contract costs are yet to be announced. In any case, considering Apple has kept last year’s price structure, it is correct to accept that the iPhone 6S should cost around $649 for the 16GB variation and $749 for the 16GB iPhone 6S Plus.
Apple has revised the way we interact with the iPhone’s touchscreen by including the force dimensions of the touch screen. This is a power’s variation touch- force technology that is already there on the Apple Watch. Called 3D Touch, this new feature gives you a chance to reduce the quantity of clicks needed to complete any task, by utilizing force touch technology along with swiping gestures. Apple has also integrated the Taptic Engine inside the new IPhone to give you feedback.
With Quick Actions, 3D Touch gives a short-cut way to the things you do most with the phone, so you can communicate something specific or bring a selfie with only a simple click from the home screen.
The next major upgrades with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus is the 12MP iSight camera with a 5MP front-facing camera. Apple has introduced a feature called Live Photos that is on by default and gives you a chance to record a 1.5-second long video, before and after you have taken a shot. The rear camera is capable of recording 4K videos.
Another intriguing addition to the new the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus is the Retina flash system, where the Apple’s iPhone 6S or 6S Plus lights up three times over its regular brightness and with respect to the surrounding lighting conditions, so you can click selfies in low light conditions.
The iPhone 6S also comes with a 4.7-inch with 1334 x 750 pixel Retina Display while the iPhone 6S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel Retina Display. The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are 0.2mm thicker than the last Apple’s iPhones with the iPhone 6S at 7.3mm and iPhone 6S Plus at 7.1mm.
Both the new iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus come with the Apple A9 chipset and with the M9 co-processor embedded in the A9 chipset. As indicated by Apple, A9 offers a 70% speed bump with the CPU when it comes to a heavy task like game streaming and a 90% Speed faster with GPU serious tasks when compared with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus iPhones which also comes with the A8 chipset. The new iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will also have the iOS 9.
On account of the extra haul because of the 3D Touch Display, the iPhone 6S Plus is 20 grams heavier at 192 grams, and iPhone 6S is 14 grams heavier at 143 grams when compared to its predecessors. On the network front, you will get LTE-Advanced, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Wi-Fi calling, GPS, and GLONASS.
Other new features, for example, Touch ID has turned into two times faster than earlier versions, Apple Pay will be supported in the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus too.
I know that the first thought in your mind would be to get an upgrade and grab either the new iPhone 6S or the iPhone 6S Plus, but you have to understand that Apple iPhones with a continuation of new features often will disappoint you.
There might be another shocking defect to fix before you commit your money in buying the new phones, however with the new 7000 Series aluminum body, there won’t be a repeat of a year’s “bend gate”.
